First of all
Learning a foreign language is not difficult, and there are no special study methods. It is relatively simple, but will take a long time.

If you want to master a foreign language, you will have to make it part of your daily life.

The bad news
To be functional in English, you will need a passive vocabulary of 5,000-10,000 words, and an active vocabulary of 2,000-5,000.

In order to learn a word passively, you will need to see, hear, or say it in context 20-50 times. Getting active command of a word takes more exposure.

What this means is that you will have to read millions of words in the language you want to learn, and listen to it for hundreds or thousands of hours. That's the bad news: it will take a lot of time to master a foreign language.

The good news
The good news is that it can be a lot of fun, and you don't have to study. You just have to listen to interesting things (podcasts, movies, TV series, music) and read interesting things (books, websites, magazines, comics). The more the better.
